The Gospel in China is a blog maintained by Jake, a missionary working in China’s underground church movement with Project China since 2007. Project China works to plant indigenous local Chinese churches and train new Chinese pastors, especially in the DongBei (northeast) region of China. For at least six months I have been in continual prayer for China. I felt God showed me a field white with rice ready for harvest (seen this somewhat in person as I have lived in rice country in South Texas) – the field spread all across China. I felt God tell me that the seeds for this harvest had been planted by those early missionaries in the 1930’and 40’s and that though it had been a long time he’d not forgotten or failed to answer the prayers of those early dedicated missionaries. I am so happy to find some one working in China. I will enjoy reading the rest of your blogs about your experiences. I have been wanting to find a way to work in China myself but know it is very difficult. I especially feel called to Tibet (near Lhasa). I don’t know how I would be able to do this but have at least chosen to dedicate time each day to pray for the people of China and Tibet.

I am currently living in China. My wife and I are and have been ESL teachers in the Chinese public schools. We have lived in Shandong province the last 10 months. We are moving to Qingdao by the Fathers direction and joining a church there. But I was wondering if you had any other connections in Qingdao? I appreciate your words and encouragement. I found your blog tonight and have read with great interest. I am a 41 year old southern baptist woman family physician in rural Missouri. I love the Chinese people and dream of the Gospel spread wide among them. I have two Bio sons and a 7 year old daughter! adopted from the special needs program in China (she is from Guangdong). I was in China in 2007 and spent time doing medical work with orphans and bringing supplies to a foster home in Qinyundian. Since then I have been an adoption advocate and worked as medical consultant for organizations doing orphan work in China. I’ve dreamed for a long time of doing medical mission work in China. I wanted to start with short term trips to establish relationships etc with the thought of a longer term situation. ” someday”. Reading this blog I am impressed by the desire not to be some kind of adventure seeker and the concern I might me misguided in these feelings of calling. With medical training and sincere love for God, the gospel, and the Chinese, is that enough? I have dabbled in Mandarin for several years and have slight aptitude with much desire. I have an 8 year old son who is feels called to China as a missionary. As a family we are attempting to lay the ground work of preparation for him. He is taking Mandarin Chinese by Rosetta Stone and reads anything he can about China. We have read him all the books about missionaries put our by YWAM. I feel as I have been called into missions work and God has told me to go to China. I’m currently a freshman in college studying to be a christian counselor. Your blog is so inspirational to me. Just came across your blog while searching the mission statements of various Christian orgs in China. We are located in Hong Kong, and have been entering China for 25 years, carriying the message by first Bibles and teaching materials, then MP3 players, then bringing pastors and teachers from the US to house pastors inside China. We have opportunities for interns to learn and for short term missionaries to experience. We are strategically located near the border, and have housing facilities for groups to come and make crossings, as well as for teachers / ministers to stay before going inside. I am currently having my research on China as a requirement in our subject intro to missions. I am a Bible school student and my heart is in World missions. I’m on my second year now. As I am browsing the net , I just accidentally came across your blog. I’m encouraged to learn more about China and I’ll start praying for it as one of my destination someday. As for now I’ll be preparing myself for a great ministry in the future.

I am sponsoring a child in China through Holt International. I contacted Holt International to find out if my child will get to hear the gospel. They were adamant in saying no, because it is against the law in China, and they are not allowed to do that… so, I plan to go with a friend to China for about a week so that I can meet with my child and her family for about a week and drop off a Bible. I have a few questions I would like to have answered: Where could I find a translator to travel with us or to meet with us? Is there any chance I could give you a gospel tract and have you translate it to chinese so that I can print off a chinese one? What would be the most practical way to share the gospel with this family? Do the homes have heavy security systems like are there cameras or voice recorders in the homes that the government listens in on in order to control citizens? And, when caught, what will happen to my friend and I, like will we be thrown in prison, tortured, or killed?
